The Trainer

2K total Fitness trainer, Keith Kemp, a native of Washington DC, started boxing in 1977 at the very young age of seven. Intrigued by a family member’s involvement in the sport, he decided to try it out. After 15 years of Amateur Boxing, he moved to the Professional arena, where he spent almost 5 years. He also boxed while spending some time in the U.S. Army in the late ‘80s. In 1999, his trainer, Butch, died unexpectedly in a car crash. In his memory, Keith quickly stepped in to take over his responsibilities teaching Boxing at SportFit in Bowie, MD. Teaching this class led to requests for Personal Training. In 2002, Keith became certified by the National Personal Training Institute (NPTI). Since then he has also obtained certification as a nutrition consultant. Keith is currently working towards obtaining his certification with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and is certified with the National Academy of Sports Medicine. He found his passion and calling in the gym through his work in personal training incorporating boxing technique.

Today, Keith enjoys personal training individual clients and groups as well as his 2K Knockout Fitness Boxing classes at SportFit Bowie. He is especially invigorated by the energy he gets from participants of his monthly 2K Boot Camp sessions held every 3rd Saturday of each month at SportFit, Bowie.

If you want to achieve results, contact Keith Kemp and he will make it happen. Simply stated: “No Pain, No Gain”.

The Chief Second

Darin Crews, Keith Kemp's assistant pulls no punches.  Darin, affectionately known as "Crews", started boxing at the age of 11 in 1977 for the Silver Hill Boys Club out of the Hillcrest Heights Boxing gym.  While serving in the U.S.M.C, as a young 19 year old Marine in Okinawa, Japan in 1985 he started the training and sparing again to pass the time on "The Rock".  This is where Crews learned to love and respect the fine art of boxing.  Crews met Butch and Keith in the 90's at SportFit in Bowie, MD. After Butch passed, Keith asked Crews to assist him with the class, just as he had done for Butch. Crews was honored and has been teaching ones and twos ever since!
